Inhabitants of „Maidan village” | 2014

Struggling against the chilly winter for several months, the Ukrainian protesters have demonstrated against the government at Maidan, Kiev. Various people came from several parts of the country. Young and old, women and men, small minorities and volunteers made up the participants with one common goal: to fight against the ruling government and bring Ukraine closer to the European Union.

Ukraine is situated between Europe and Russia so there were always conflicts in this area. Beyond the ethnic problems, the money-centric government made the people angry and therefore they started to protest on the streets of Kiev.

A so called "tent village" was set up by thousands of inhabitants in the center of Kiev, at Maidan. This artificial „village” was incredibly well organised, daily life was conducted by strict rules. The big power, that sticked them together was the faith in the different future. It is still an unfinished story, and nobody knows the clear outcome.
