The first steps to win a derby | 2015

The Jockey and Horse Training Center was established in 1889 in Alag, Hungary. The golden ages of the Training Center were in the beginning of the XX. century and nowadays it is still working with the same rules as a hundred years ago. Many national derby winner jockeys and horses started their career in this center. In 2011 a three year long jockey school was established for young girls and boys at the age between 13 and 15. They can make their first steps here to win a derby. There are 10-12 students in every grade. They learn the basics about race horses in the first year, then they become a member of the dozen racing stables. Since then they take part of many derbies because they still need to learn a lot. A talented jockey usually starts to win races at the age of 25 and he or she can be in good fettle until the age of 40 or 50.
